Reincarnation?
Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 5:46PM Q: Do you believe in reincarnation? I've read Wings of Comfort and got a lot of value from it, in fact I should say it changed my life. It seemed like reincarnation is in it, but it's not prominent, and I wasn't sure. S.B.
A: Science has its "dark matter" and "dark energy" -- a high percentage of what we know to exist that is "dark," meaning "unknown." Religion has its mysteries, where only faith suffices. We are told that we use less than 10% of our brain capacity.
As for my own belief, I look in the mirror and see the size of my little skull, in which all that I know is currently registered. I don't see how a peerless Creator, and/or a process of evolution that has gotten us where we are now, would rule out any viable design that such a Force, or such an Entity, might utilize, to achieve its ends. Reincarnation? I don't remember the name of the historic figure who said something like, "It's no greater miracle to be born many times than to be born once."
